Tech Genus Discussion

So i kind of got tired of playing  six sams and I wanted another deck to play that actually takes a little mind to play so i choose tech genus and after testing out the deck I really want to make it, also since I bought a box of extreme victory and pretty much pulled everything I need to build the deck so yeah I am building tech genus. I was trying alot of different things in my build and I just decided to go with 5the mob and play the plant engine with 3 tengus. I feel kind a bad since I wanted to make it my own but that build just seems so much better compared to the control one. So i tested them both out and yeah with libararian legal the plant tech genus build is really good. But if libaraian gets banned then i will probably take out the plant engine ( or maybe not since that engine just puts in so much work) Also I like the deck because it has it's own creature swap which is real nice. It kind of gives it that control aspect without it actually being control. Right now I like it better than d prision beacuse d prision is dead most of the time with shien and I love taking a kristia or hyperion against faries. I really did want to play 3 d prision but oh well you can't have everything. I fell like I am playing back in the days of old when I switch control of one of my tg's and I destroy it so isearch for another tg, such a simple yet effective stratgety lol! So that is really all I have to say I am probably going to do a post on nats tomorrow, but If I am busy then good luck to everybody going to nats, i would come but my family is going on vacation on the same day nats are happening and the bottom line is plane tickets are expensive!

Dueling network Madness

Srry for the lack of posts but I just wanted to do a short post on when i was on dueling network last night. So I was playing my tech genus deck (decklist up soon as well as six sam) against some fortune lady deck and this guy had  a decent rating around the 250-300 range I know that that's not that much but it's enough so that you at least know the rules of the game. So I hyave two tokens from dandy and a level 4 spore, he has fortune lady wind on the field and 2 backrows and a decree face up. I summon rush rhino and he activates torrential i am like no way you can't do that beacuse you have decree and he's like yes i can It negates only my opponents traps not my own. WHAT? So I explain to him that it negates all other traps on the field and he's like well okay, then i continue my turn and I have to explainn every little thing to him, like why I drew 2 cards because I had a libabrain on the field and I summoned a formula. All in all is the most pain I have ever experienced while on dueling network. On the bright side i won (thank god.) That's all for today expect a very late YCS recap and a few decklists later on this week.

Just a little disscussion

So I have a little discussion on reborn tengu. Why did konami make this card, did they not see that librian took over in the ocg and so konami relaeses this card just to make libriraian format worse. i know that i am a little late top the party about ranting on this card but this card is just not healthy for the game. At least in the ocg they did not have tengu and that shows as alot of different decks top and they are in libararian format so it shows that the ocg has a healthy game. But nats this year in the TCG is going to be just the nuts. So let me get this straight we have trish at 3 libaraian at 3 AND tengu at 3, plants are so good. The worst part about it is that tengu is a TCG exclusive so it likely will not be hit on the ban list. Konami please stop releasing such sacky cards and if you do please correct your mistake. Also one more rant can the people who cover the YCS's in the western hemisphere and the people who update the yugioh-card website please have a lesson in web managing 101 as I gave the people who covered YCS orlando credit they got the decklists up faster but know they have taken 2 steps backward and not updated that coverage. Also it gets on my nerves when i see products like dp crow and dp collection tin and they still say coming soon what? They have been out for almost a month know! But for the coverage team that covers the YCS's over in Europe good job you take pictures, are fast at updating and they just write the feature matches like they actually play the game so kudos to them, they should have more YCS's in europe.
Quick side note I was buolding a balckwing deck but decided against it as I think they are too slow against the other decks out there and there are better control decks like GB's or GK's. Also I am revamping my six sam deck to be able to keep up with librarian so that decklist is coming soon. Oh and also the blog is going through some subtle changes so be on the look out!

YCS Providence: Agent discussion

So yes I am starting my YCS discussion for providence I have not been able to do this for other YCS's because of laziness/finals. But alas I finally decided to muster the mental capacity to do this ( I make it sound so hard to push keys on a keyboard).
So agents alot of my friends at locals were having a discussion about them and I joined in. There was alot of talk about them being the next dragunities one YCS and ya done. I think that statement is half right. They will get a good amount of tops this YCS as they are new and not alot of people will have done extensive playtesting against them and they have decent support. But then we fast forward to nats and they start to lose power, no longer do they have the surprise factor that they had and people know how to play against the deck. Kinda like when gk's won that YCS (i think atlanta?) because they had the surprise factor, sure they do top still but they have never won again. But this is a discussion about the YCS so yes I think that Agents will have a good showing at YCS providence and top quite a bit. i don't think that agents are going to win though as I have predeicted the winner wrong of a YCS every single time as people with random decks always win but who knows maybe that will change. i personally have playtested against agents on DN(which is other rant i will get into in another post) and six sam have a decent matchup against them, they can easily outspeed them but hyperion is a very easy out to shien so agents boss monster is better but sams have more speed. The only other deck I have playtested agents with is blackwings and they have a fair matchup as icurus really hurts icurs should so be at 3. so i kinda got off track but i hoped this helped.

Six Sam decklist

Here is my decklist for my local it is 41 cards but i include 2 upstart so that makes it 39 I am considering dropping the dojo for either something else or nothing because in theory it adds to consistency but I haven't really play tested  that enough. Monsters:13
3 kageki
3 kagemusha
3 kizan
2 elder
1 grandmaster
1 hand

Spells:19
3 united
3 smoke signal
3 actestism
2 upstart
2 mst
1 dojo
1 gateway
1 trunade
1 Rota
1 book
1 reborn

Traps: 9
3 Dest
2 warning
1 solemn
1 mirror force
1 oppresion
1 fiendish chain

So that is the decklist again I still have to do more testing on the dojo really all I have to say.

I'm back (for good, at least till finals next year) also local report!

Hey  guys I know I have been gone for a while, blame it on school just a really hectic time for me, and I have to study, study, and study so please forgive me, but I have been keeping up with the game (I have been going to locals every week) so I am here with my local report. This time I went with actestism build with sams  I know all I use are sams, but for some reason I am tempted to build b wings again as that is my all time favorite deck to play. Anyway on with the report!

Round1 vs. Six Sam
So I don't know this guys name, actually nobody I knew was there (they were all busy or so they say -_- )
so I thought that this would be an easy local but in the end it actually turned out to be a high end local.
Game1: I draw nothing and he opens decently and all I play for the whole game are my 2 msts, but the good thing is he doesn't side since he doesn't know what i am  playing.
Game2: I open good drawing 2 cards summoning shein and setting warning and fiendish chain, all the while having puppet plant in my hand so yeah I win.
Game3: pretty much the same as game 2
Result: 2out of 3Win!
Record: 1-0

Round 2: vs Six Sam (again!)
Game1: he only sets back row and i just bait out the backrow and end up winning
Game2: we go back and forth but in the end he gets off a shien and I don't have an out and I draw dest too late.
Game3: I don't open with any hope of being aggro at all but I open with solemn, and warningx2 so i can control the board long enough to go aggro and win!
Result: 2out of 3 Win!
Record: 2-0
So just a little thing I have faced 2 mirror matches and I thought that actesticsm would help with that but i never drew acstetism once but I still win so I'm okay with that!

Round3: vs Tengu plant
Game1: I have control early on but he summons tengu and presses for advantage with the plant engine and I can only stare with a look of awe.
Game2: Again i have control early, but he puppet plants my shien and uses tengu and shien to drop me to 100 life points, next turn i synch into beast, with actestism(YAY) and destroy his remaing tengu's but he lava golemn's me and ends to win (not cool man)
Oh well I probably just got too excited with actestism and played it my bad
Result: 0 out of 2 wins
Record: 2-1
I am okay I just have to win my next 2 games nad i will top
Round4: vs Machina
Okay so i lied I do know him and he is actually a very good machina player, but I have tested heavily against machina as I always at least play against one machina at my locals so I know how to play against this deck.
Game1: this just shows how much life points don't matter i go first setting my 2 solemn warning and solemn judgement( Iknow derp-derp) ans synch into shien, he summons gearframe, i warning, he discards for fortress I warning, he drops force for fortress. i solemn and he passes needless to say i end up winning. This just proves that life points are meaingless in this game.
Game2: i open with my sided cyber dragon and fuse with his green gadget to make fortress dragon, then synch into shein, then into beast with actesism(double YAY) and end up winning because I play my sided d-fissure first turn.
Result: 2out of 2 wins
Record: 3-1
Then they announce that there would only be four round nooooooooooooooooo! I still have a chance of topping but when they announce the top 8 I rank 10th -_- oh well better luck next time but i did find out that I like the actesism engine and will stay with it. Decklist up maybe tomorrow.
